A Story

Once upon a time there was a guy with a blog who lived in a place that was suffering through a really very most unpleasant wave of 100+ degree days, who's computer was in a room in his house that had no air-conditioning and only one tiny little window (Because he didn't want to muck up the aesthetics in the better ventilated areas of the house with his messy computer desk which is constantly piled up with old coloring books and action figures and board game pieces.) who found himself growing so dizzy, clammy and slightly breathless whenever he tried to stay in that tiny-windowed room long enough to even upload a cheesy "Make A [Blank] Version of Yourself" post to his blog that he decided to chuck the whole thing and spend all his free time at the local farmer's market throwing back glass after glass of refreshing plum bubble tea until the weather finally breaks...

He's also hitting the local Target every once and awhile, wherein he found the following Play Town Spider-Man & Friends wooden figures for sell at 4.99 a pair...

Aren't they cute? And only slightly out of focus and under lit. My camera's exhausted by all this heat, as well.

Also, he's seen "Hairspray" forty-seven times.

And he read The Deathly Hallows.

And he naps a lot.

The End.

I love this story! It reminds me of food obsessed girl I know. ;) BTW every time that I read your statement about the contraction for who and are I laugh aloud. Happy to hear that you are having a lovely summer!

Target, you just made yourself a sale. Thank you Steven and thank you China for your parts in this transaction.

eviedee- I don't know how many times I've used that particular contraction in my lifetime and I only recently stopped to take a good look at it. No wonder nobody ever replies to my love letters...

kirk- On behave of China and myself, "You're welcome!" Just don't lick the paint. By the way all 47 times that I've seen Hairspray I've let everyone within earshot know that the guy who drew the Mr Pinky man reads my blog. Most people seem very impressed as they move a few rows away...

thanks for the shoutout. People will probably react the same way when they read that on my gravestone someday.

Between you and me, there was a shining moment when it looked like I was going to do illustrations of the whole cast in that mr. pinky style to be used on official New Line merchandise(!!!) T-shirts and junk in stores like Hot Topic. But of course that didn't happen. The only good news is that I wasn't replaced, they just didn't make much merch for the film (that I know of)
I'll bet if they had any idea that it would do so well at the box office they would have done things differently.
