And Away We Go!
Where the heck does a year go? Seems like only yesterday I glanced at the calender and realized it was Oct. 2, 2008 and I was in no way prepared to start posting a month's worth of Hallowe'en-flavored blog goodness. Time flies like a little bat-winged PEZ dispenser. At least some good came from last year's month o' panic posting... this year I have planned ahead to the point where I am at least aware of the fact that it is Oct. 1st and I am in no way ready to start posting a month's worth of Hallowe'en goodness.
I kid.
I've actually got a good dozen or so posts ready to go and another dozen just waiting to be scanned or photoed or whatever...which is quite the advanced preparation for a person who starts wrapping presents at 11:30 on Christmas Eve.
The key word for this year's postings is 'random.' There will be lots of random scans, random photos and random thoughts with a scattering of more insightful (as these things go) posts thrown into the mix to keep me from looking like too much of a slacker. But if some of my offerings tend towards the meager then there are plenty of other folks taking part in this year's countdown who will be more than happy to pick up my slack. Just click on the banner at the top of this post and at the top of the sidebar to take you to Hallowe'en Countdown 2009 central where you'll find a list of all the houses with their front porch lights on. At last count I believe that there were 72,329 participants this years. That's a guesstimate.
Alright, quit hanging around here. Grab your goodie bags (I'll be using my trusty plastic pumpkin bucket, of course) and hit the sidewalks. I'll see you again tomorrow!

There's no season like Halloween season -- I'm back to blogging for the countdown. I love this time of year...
Jiminey Crickets, you aren't far off on the site count. I have to say that having given myself a pretty rigid theme this year, random sounds like a breath of fresh pumpkin infused air...
