I have a feeling that this will be the first of many Dynamite magazine centric posts this month as I have a stack of issues from that publication, the surface of which has barely been scratched in regards to Hallowe'een Countdown material...

I remember this very article. Dynamite was such a cool magazine, and I recently discovered that it was created by former DC Comics president Jenette Kahn. I wish I had known that when I met her. I probably would have kneeled before her.
I remember this article as well. I still have the issue. Dynamite was a great magazine. Some of their "True Tales of Terror" articles freaked me out. That is, until I found out they were only "true" in the sense that...oh, they weren't true at all. "Goosebumps" author R.L. Stine and his wife both worked for Dynamite back in the 70's.
